For 40 years, LaSalle Solutions has participated in charity events supporting a broad spectrum of causes we believe in. Through LaSalleCares, we realize our commitment to being much more than just a business, and to making the planet a better place to live.
LaSalle is a diverse team of hardworking people, and when we come together to create positive change for the people around us, we all see the benefits. We love to roll up our sleeves, work together, give back to our communities, and invest in the wellbeing of everyone.
In 2019, we participated in events across California, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio – here’s a look back at what we gave our time and attention to in the past year.
Habitat for Humanity: The House That Tech Built
This event took place in Chicago and was coordinated with Cisco. Housing affordability is a major concern throughout Chicagoland: Residents of the city itself and its nearest suburbs spend higher shares of their income on housing than the nation as a whole, according to a landmark MacArthur Foundation study.
Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to making housing more affordable, in part by supporting new home construction. For this event, many local volunteers teamed up with LaSalle and Cisco on a multi-day building project in Chicago:
- Two build days and one wall raise day
- 679 total combined volunteer hours from nearly 100 volunteers from Cisco and LaSalle
Together, LaSalle and Cisco raised about $57,000 for Habitat for Humanity Chicago, with 679 total volunteer hours contributed to the building of this home.
American Cancer Society: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
This cause is near and dear to our hearts, as some of our own employees are breast cancer survivors. The American Cancer Society funds cancer research, provides resources to people facing cancer, and sponsors the country’s largest network events that raise awareness and money, like this one that was held in October 2019. LaSalle Solutions and many of our employees contributed to the cause and participated in the walk, raising more than $2,100.
This event is a 10K/2 mile walk/run held each August in downtown Youngstown, Ohio. To date, it has raised $2.5 million for the Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley, which supports the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. We were honored to sponsor a team.
Lazydays Employee Foundation
Founded in 2005 as an employee-owned charitable foundation, the Lazydays Employee Foundation is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children. LaSalle contributed to the foundation’s ninth annual golf tournament on May 10, 2019, which raised $130,000 to support at-risk youth in the Tampa Bay area.
In addition to the events above, LaSalle also took part in sponsoring a number of golf outings around the country, including the:
- Guild Mortgage Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner Social FIS Patriot Golf Tournament in Florida
- FNF 19th Annual Charity Golf Classic
- The KeHe Cares Golf Outing in Illinois
- The One Hope United Charity Golf Outing in Illinois
- The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Charity Golf Outing in Ohio
- The McDonald’sTechnology Charity Classic in Illinois
Looking ahead to the 2020s, LaSalle remains focused on charity contributions through LaSalleCares. We believe in giving back to the communities that have given so much to us, and we will continue to do so in 2020 and beyond.
